As a team one our principle directives is to follow the Modernist ideal that form follows function. We believe that the space or items should work successfully before they look good. That is not to say that aesthetics and considered detailing should be ignored.
Within the framework of simplicity and the need to avoid clutter we like to bring in visual interest using the juxtaposition of different materials and effective lighting.
Other ideal that we often look at is the concept of Biophillic design- the concept the people of preprogramed to relate to nature and natural materials. This often gives a sense of comfort and warmth to the user, this also helps to avoid confusion with the messaging.
